80 Metal Keepsake Bracelets sold to support the Tufts Gastric Cancer study!!

In memory of Alex and to support blood donation for the Cancer Study at the 2014 ABTC National in April, I sold Keepsake bracelets from December to end of January.
Just finished what is probably the last bracelet tonight.  My goal was 30-40, we sold a total of 80!!! I am blown away!
Many thanks to friends old and new that supported this endeavor.  This was a bittersweet task and I met many new folks and their friends.

These funds will support the Gastric Cancer Study at Tufts - outlined on ABTC.org.
Dr. Elizabeth McNiel, managing that study, will join us in Huron, Ohio to speak to the members and take samples of dogs over 8 years old.

I cannot tell you how thankful I am for all your support for this study!
Bless you all!

January, a time of change

It is January again. One of the months that changes so much in my life, both for loss and wonder.
I was born in Januaray, two of my cousins and a myriad of friends.
I also lost my Dad, Alex and just this year, a dear friend and neighbor.
The rest of the (Northern) world may be dormant, but to me, January will always be change.

Eve, above, has been staying with me for a couple of months. She is a good roomie and keeps me centered and aware of joy. In this photo, she just finished a dash of tag with Kit. Yes, Kit is still doing fine and really appreciates having a Terv to play and wrestle with. Note her "READY?" look? I can never recreate that for the cat! LOL

I miss Alex, I miss my Dad, and I miss Loraine.
I love my friends and family that share this month with me.

I am excited to be selling cuff bracelets to support the Gastric Cancer study this month.
The doctor in charge, Christine McNiel, is coming to our ABTC National in April and I am so excited!
Now, to make enough to pay for those expenses and I am happy. :)
Have a wonderful year, all!

Autumn, one of our best times

The above is from the October / November 2013 TNT - our ad, paid for by your shirts.
The hope is to raise awareness and pass the word! We need more samples from more dogs, both sick and healthy.  Please help us and your Tervuren?

The photo below is an October collage of Alex. The new cool fall air was always his favorite!
Hug yours, have a wonderful day!

We lost Finn, the last of our Mt Hope troop

Alex has been gone only 6 months. Carlos, 6 years and Gregor a bit longer.
It is sad to report that Finn has now gone to join them. Good, in that Finn lived a long and mostly healthy life - over 14.5 years old.

We love you Finn! Give our best to the other guys - you all know how to fill a room!   And a ♡.

4 months gone...

It has been four months since Alex left for his next great adventure. I miss him. Life is starting to settle to a new normal. Kit-man is waiting for me to take up the slack for playtime. I am not even as good at it as Alex was.

We sold 178 shirts for donations to the Stomach Cancer Study - http://health.ovbtc.com.   Made over $2000, spent part of it on ads for the next year in TNT (Tervs 'n Tails) to let folks know about the study and how to participate. I am hopeful that these funds will be spent to help folks send necropsies in to the study.  More detailed information will hopefully gain more answers.

I picked up this bleeding heart today and planted it right in front of Alex's favorite - the daylillies. This may be the first year they have bloomed in full since he got here! He loved to sit and lay in them. The broad, cool leaves were his favorite! This is where I have placed Alex's ashes to rest. It seems appropriate.

Thank you all for helping with the sales and the study! Good news - if it helps our furry friends, it will likely also help us.
